One is a story of young love on the run across the American West grappling with themes of the American Dream, inner demons, and what it means to embrace your destiny.
The other is also a story of young love on the run across the American West grappling with themes of the American Dream, inner demons, and what it means to embrace your destiny... but with cannibals.
Badlands (1973) - Terrence Malick
A great intro to Malick's work (and first work) with special care of capturing the beauty and the harshness of the Montana badlands. This movie also proves Martin Sheen was hot back in the day.

Bones & All (2022) - Luca Guadagnino
Yeah, it's a cannibal love story. But it's a cannibal love story fleshed out with stand out performances from Taylor Russel, Timothee Chalamet, Mark Rylance, and (spoiler!!) Chloe Sevigny.
